Amiet-Hesse-Weg Oschwand
The Amiet-Hesse-Weg is an art and culture trail in memory of Cuno Amiet (1868-1961) and Bruno Hesse (1905-1999). Eight information points from Riedtwil around Oschwand and Spych provide original locations with insights into the favorite motifs of the two world-famous painters from Oschwand.
The Amiet-Hesse-Weg leads on Bernese hiking trails from the Riedtwil station in a shorter 11/2 hour circular route to the Oschwand cemetery and the "Bögli-Hoger" above Spych or in a 3-4 hour hiking route over the Mutzgraben, the Baschiloch further on Juchten and the so-called trachea to Oschwand and Spych.
At eight points along the way, hikers and walkers are introduced to information stelae about the life, works and work of the two local painters. The stations open the view of the two artists to that magnificent landscape in which you walk, stand, look and marvel.
The routes lead past the former home of Cuno Amiet, which the painter's heirs are about to prepare as a meeting place.
