The Cognac Pass is on the transition from Stallbaum to Arzlohe. The pass has nothing to do with alcohol smuggling, but was named by the locals after the "crossers". They all came from the Stallbaum side (even from Lichtenegg and Guntersrieth) but had a small hut in the forest on the Arzlohe side and indulged in cognac there. After "work done" they had to go back over this hill, so the pass was named after their favorite drink.
