One of Malaysia’s national treasures and holiest Hindu sites, this complex of giant limestone caves, just 13km north of KL, houses temples that have been drawing pilgrims for more than 120 years.
If you are in KL, you should make a detour to the Batu Caves. The big statue alone is worth it - if you take the more than 200 steps, you will find an imposing cave with temples and shrines. It is definitely worth it. You should only stay away from the monkeys on the stairs and if possible do not take anything edible with you, they can be quite intrusive.
