From the Yellow Mountain, a 628 meter high mountain in the Hahnenkamm southwest of the municipality of Dittenheim, you have a fantastic view of the Gunzenhausen Plain, the Franconian Lake District and also far into the Weißenburger Land from an almost even plateau.
Finds of stone axes and chert arrowheads suggest that the mountain has been inhabited since the Neolithic period. The plateau is covered by low, dense dry grassland. The Yellow Mountain is a designated landscape protection area.
