    In contrast to the other water-powered mills on Mühlenweg, the Rainbauernmühle has an undershot water wheel, i. H. the water is directed from the Acher through a channel from "below" onto the paddle blades of the wheel, thereby setting it in motion. The Rainbauernmühle is a popular photo motif in the Mühlendorf Ottenhöfen and has been produced by numerous publications in newspapers, magazines, radio and television known.

                      The grinding mechanism of the mill that can be seen today dates back to 1875. There may have been a mill here before that.
                      The mill was renovated in 1974 by the Ottenhöfen Black Forest Association. There is a nice rest area and a short footbridge so that you can see the mill wheel up close.
