The water was originally supplied via a one-kilometer-long canal from the Acher and a water wheel forty meters below the courtyard. The mill was then transmitted (driven) via a 200 m long wire rope which was connected to the drive pulley of the wheel.

Due to water law constraints, the bike had to be shut down and expanded in 1922. The mill was then driven by an electric motor, later from around 1975 by a tractor.

I was part of a birthday party in the barn of Könningerhof. It houses agricultural and forestry historical equipment, all of which come from the farm. The owner of the farm, Mr. Schnurr, knew an interesting anecdote about each device.

It's closed here on Sundays! There doesn't seem to be any restaurants here anymore. But the seats at the schnapps, cider and water fountain are great. So bring snacks!
