Sequoias and a totem pole. Coming from the top parking lot (Gaiberger Weg, next to the log cabin at the rhododendron enclosure), following the path to the left into the forest, you will find a plaza that shows the perimeter of the largest sequoia tree in North America. By contrast, the trees here are really small. This is impressive!
A few steps away there is a refuge, and a plaque commemorates the siege of Heidelberg in the Thirty Years' War in 1622 by the Catholic League under the general Tilly, who occupied the city in September.

In this arboretum (I) the sequoias are of course very striking and most noticeable, but other trees that are not normally native to the area can also be admired by walking along the winding paths.
North American plants are more common in this part. The Arboretum II near the MPI / Bierhelderhof shows more Asian tree species.
