House Havichhorst is mentioned for the first time in a document in 1032. The estate was originally the property of the Bishop of Münster, who later left it to the cathedral dean. The estate with the mill was administered by an episcopal "Villicus", the "Schulten to Havichhorst".

Today Gut Havichhorst is an exclusive event location for conferences, weddings or similar celebrations.
The Westfälische Reit- und Fahrschule Münster e.V., which was founded in 1922, is also located on the other site. Here you can begin training to become a master horse manager or trainer. However, there are also training courses on all aspects of equestrian sport, both in competitive and popular sports. Large equestrian events also take place here again and again.
The estate is surrounded by a beautiful forest, which is great for walking. If you like, you can make a detour to Havichhorster Mühle and walk along the path to Landhaus Eggert to the Wersebrücke on the Haskenau and on to Gelmer or through the Haskenau forest.
