The Kelpies are a magnificent pair of monumental steel horse-head sculptures, standing proudly between the Scottish towns of Falkirk and Grangemouth. These colossal artworks, each reaching 30 meters (98 feet) in height, serve as a dramatic eastern gateway to the Forth and Clyde Canal. Located within The Helix park in Central Scotland, at an elevation of approximately 3 meters above sea level, they are a striking landmark visible from the M9 motorway and a testament to Scottish artistry and heritage.

Defo worth a ride. On the Scottish NCN 76, it very safe and pleasurable to get there, and be there. There’s a cafe if you want the obligatory cyclists 🚴‍♀️ coffee ☕️. The Sculptures s huge and worth a look. There are canal boats there too. The NCN 76 itself surprised me with the many views. At one place you can see the Clackmannanshire bridge, Kincardine Bridge as well as the Queensferry Bridge. The ride over Clackmannanshire bridge is spectacular 🚲

The Kelpies are so impressive and definitely worth a visit- they're huge! It's easy cycling to get there, either via the canal or on Route 76 along the shoreline. We stopped a while and had lunch at the visitor centre cafe - all home-made on site and decent sized portions, so perfect for cycle touring!
