A gigantic spectacle when the locks open just a little at 3 p.m. and the masses of water pour roaring through the gorge.
Worth it
a) Being on time: It's all over in less than 10 minutes.
And b) visit one of the viewpoints that can only be reached on foot via the hiking trail on the east side above the gorge. From there you have a magnificent view of the spectacle.
