The object Schloss Wolframshof is a castle. Castles originally served as members of the nobility as a place of residence and administration. A visit to Wolframshof Castle is not possible (but an outside visit may be possible).
Wolframshof is first mentioned in 1054 in a document by Emperor Heinrich III. mentioned as villa Wolframmesdorf. In the 11th century, the construction of a castle on the island in the Haidenaab can also be assumed. The first known owners were the Zirkendorfer, followed by the Potzlinger zu Ernstfeld, the Brucker and then the Gotzfeld (late 14th century). Konrad von Gotzfeld († 1383) is mentioned by name, who is mentioned in the Leuchtenberg fief book. In 1408 the castle came to the Ochs through inheritance and purchase. Hans Ochs († 1445) was given one half of the castle and the mill by the Leuchtenberger, the other half he and his brothers owned as their own. In 1418, the entire property went to his brother Ulrich Ochs. After his death, Konrad Sparnberger, Konrad Redwitzer and Jörg Steinhauser (sons-in-law) and Jörg Ochs split the property between themselves. In 1448 Conrad Redtwitzer zu Redtwitz received the seat at Wolffartzhof and the mill there. In 1468 the castle went to Lorenz Sparnberger, son of Konrad. In 1487, Caspar Sparnberger was mortgaged. The last Sparnberger died in 1634 and the fief fell away. However, from 1617 the Löschwitz were named as owners and from 1728 that of Lindenfels. The latter family existed with Max Wolfgang von Lindenfels (* July 12, 1908, † November 28, 1982) as the last representative of this line until 1982.
