Not far from St. Blasien, the Lehenkopfturm offers a magnificent panoramic view of the entire surrounding landscape.

The tower was built in a closed wooden construction and the wide wooden staircase inside has two intermediate floors. This ensures that even people who are afraid of heights can finally climb such a tower and enjoy the view. So almost no risk of dizziness! Due to the closed construction, the view can only be seen through barred windows. There are several benches around the tower for rest and sunbathing.

The Lehenkopfturm stands on the 1,039-meter-high Lehenkopf, directly on the Schluchtensteig long-distance hiking trail between St. Blasien and Dachsberg. The 18 meter high tower offers a wonderful panoramic view of St. Blasien.
The Lehenkopf tower, built in 1886, stands on the 1,039-meter-high Lehenkopf, right on the Schluchtensteig long-distance hiking trail. In 1975 the tower, which was once 22 meters high, was reduced to the current height of 18 meters. After 40 years, the tower was restored in 2015 and inaugurated again in spring 2016. The remedial measures cost € 43,000, half of which was funded by the Southern Black Forest Nature Park. A wooden floor was installed in the lower area of the tower.

The ascent of St. Blasien is a romantic, promising path. The tower is free and always open. The 19 meter high tower, which offers a fantastic panoramic view of the cathedral city of St. Blasien and the Hotzenwald, stands on the boundary between Dachsberg and St. Blasien.

The tower was built in 1886 by the St. Blasier Kurverein with a height of 22 meters. In 1975 there was a major renovation because the tower was exposed not only to wind and weather, but also to the never-ending vandalism. In 2011, the year of the 125th anniversary, further renovation was considered necessary. The inauguration of the restored tower was celebrated on May 7, 2016 with a crouch on the tower.

The Black Forest Schluchtensteig leads past the Lehenkopfturm. Nearby there is a barbecue area in the direction of St. Blasien, about 600 meters away.

From the Lehenkopfturm you have a wonderful all-round view of the entire Black Forest. This wooden tower is easy to climb and entry is free. Downstairs there are two places to sit and grill. This place is also easy to reach by bike and from here you can continue in all directions.
