If you visit Bad Orb, you simply have to walk up to the waiting tower. The view of the surrounding area from the tower is beautiful and the space around the tower invites you to linger and rest.

A hike from Bad Orb to the Molkenberg is definitely worthwhile. In the middle of the expansive, beautiful meadow landscape stands the legendary watchtower. A 40-step steel staircase, decorated with numerous "love locks" on the sides, leads to the top. From the top, you'll enjoy a fascinating panoramic view of the whole of Bad Orb, the Orb Valley, and the Spessart Mountains.

One of the most interesting events is the temporary, involuntary stay of the robber chief Peter von Orb. Since he also went over dead bodies during his career, it was deemed appropriate to lock him in the tower and leave him to starve to death. Peter had previously tamed a fox in his spare time, which now became quite affectionate and dug a tunnel into the tower to its master. The master expanded the tunnel and escaped.
