St. Abundus Church was built in 1250 from fieldstone and first expanded with half-timbering around 1650. The church still contains medieval paintings. The church's furnishings include a three-part altarpiece by Mathilde Block, installed in 1898. The two crucifixes in the chancel date from the 14th (smaller model) and 15th centuries. A carved figure of St. Anne from the late 15th century is located on the royal gallery in the chancel. The pulpit between the chancel and the nave features late Renaissance decorations. Inside the building hang memorial plaques for von Bernstorff family members, including one donated by Eric M. Warburg for the German diplomat and resistance fighter Albrecht Graf von Bernstorff.

Donations made it possible to recast a bell, dedicated in November 1993, bearing the inscription "Glory to God in the highest." Two retired bells are on display in the churchyard. The key to the church can be obtained from the pastor's house across the street (No. 38).

The St. Abundus Church in Lassahn is the parish church belonging to the parish of Parchim parish Lassahn. The community belongs to the provost Parchim in the church district Mecklenburg the Evangelical Lutheran Church in northern Germany (North Church). The building is located about 350 meters east of the Lassahner Lake, a part of the Schaalsee, in the Zarrentiner district Lassahn in the west of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.

The first mention of the place Lassahn in Ratzeburger Zehntregister dates from the year 1230th The construction of the Abunduskirche is estimated to the time between 1190 and 1250. Its oldest surviving part, the square choir with the sacristy of fieldstone, dates from around 1240. The northern side of the central part is a plastered brick wall of recent date, to the south it is executed in half-timbered and dates from the 17th century. The western part of the timber-framed tower with its tower was built around 1740.

A gold-colored ball with a cock above it from 1980 forms the spire. The predecessor was shot at a victory celebration of British soldiers in 1945 from the top. Village and church belonged historically to the district Duchy of Lauenburg, but came with the Barber-Ljaschchenko Agreement in the Soviet-occupied zone. The parish belonged legally continue to the Landesuperintendentur Lauenburg, but was assigned in early 1989, the Mecklenburg State Church.
In the cemetery at the church is a burial place of the family of Bernstorff.

After World War II, Lassahn initially belonged to Schleswig-Holstein. This changed with the Gadebusch Treaty on territorial exchange, which was signed in Gadebusch in 1945 between England (signed by Major General Barber) and the Soviet Union (signed by Major General Lyachenko).

St. Abundus Church was the filming location for the German ARD miniseries "The Funeral," which first aired in 2022. The church, the view of the lake, and several other locations are easily recognizable. Anyone who has taken a bike ride here will recognize many scenes exactly in their photos.

The first mention of Lassahn in the Ratzeburg tithe register dates back to 1230. Construction of the Abundus Church is estimated to have begun between 1190 and 1250. The western section, facing the sea, is timber-clad and features a tower, and was built around 1740.
