It is located 10 km from Folgaria, on the upper left orographic side of the Rio Cavallo valley, under the top of Mount Finonchio.
It is an ancient rural village of Cimbra origin, which, according to tradition, originates from the presence of a guard post (hence the name) serving the castle of Beseno.
THE PAINTED COUNTRY
Guardia is known as the painted country.
The name is due to the mural paintings visible on the walls of the houses, the result of various reviews of mural art that the town has hosted since 1988.
Multicolored murals peek out from old and new walls along an itinerary to be discovered!
An itinerary that brings to light local traditions, customs and traditions through wall painting and the interpretation of the numerous artists who created the various works.
The town was the birthplace of Cyril Grott, a painter, sculptor and poet.
His works are visible in the artist's atelier.
