Önkfeld is a town in the city of Radevormwald. First documented in 1433/1434 as Unckincfelde when "war damage caused by devastation of the troops of the Archbishop of Cologne Dietrich II. Von Moers" had to be complained about.

Önkfeld has been known in the region for many years due to the Thanksgiving Festival celebrated there with a Thanksgiving procession. Tractors and trailers decorated by local farmers and communities, as well as various foot groups, will take part in this move. This festival is organized by the "Kulturgemeinde Önkfeld", which maintains the so-called "Haus der Kulturgemeinde" in Oberönkfeld (east of Önkfeld).

The annual festival "Dance into May" is also very beautiful. It is organized by the Löngruppe Önkfeld volunteer fire brigade and delights numerous visitors every year at the beginning of May, including from larger, surrounding cities.
