The Blumendorfer Herrenhaus presents itself majestically to the visitor. Jacob Levin von Plessen had the building erected in 1755, around 1900 it was designed in the neo-baroque style. Martin Freiherr von Jenisch has had it extensively restored in recent years.

Strictly speaking, Blumendorf Castle is not a castle at all. That does not detract from his dignity and beauty.

Some Stormarner will have admired the palace of Blumendorf from the inside, at the "Blumendorfer Encounters", the concerts that the city organizes there four times a year. Also from the motorway, if you drive towards Bad Oldesloe on the A21 from the south, you know the pretty view of how it is in the middle of its green park lawn. However, the most beautiful view opens when the visitor walks through the main gate over the forecourt to the manor house.
