I was here as a child in the mid-1960s, there was a restaurant in the castle and in front of it you could ride a pony.
Today the castle is unfortunately left to decay.
A derelict place that is very well known in the Lost Places scene.
The parent company of von Biedenfeld was Rittershain Castle near Rockensüß. Rittershain Castle was built in 1843 by Baron Hermann von Biedenfeld (1812-1891), colonel and adjutant of the wing of the last Elector of Hesse (taken from: Curt Freiherr von Biedenfeld, Rittergut Liebenz, American Diary, Leipzig, 1912).
