    The Erlach settlement lies between the deer pond and the Hornauer Weiher. The second of the three Altmühl springs is located a little east of it, on the site of a secluded homestead.

        Seen from above, this is the 2nd of the 3 Altmühl springs, all of which claim to be the REAL source.
        However, there is an official stipulation that the actual source or origin of the Altmühl is the Hornauer Weiher.
        This should end the eternal quarrel....but of course it didn't work😊
        But that doesn't matter to us cyclists/hikers, we can still see everything.
        All 3 places are quite beautiful and worth seeing, so go there/hike!
