The Levada da Serra can be hiked in two ways. Relatively easy via the ascent from the ER105 or as a long tour past Bica da Cana. The actual Levada section is very well developed (2/2020) and mostly easy to walk with great views and sometimes showers under several waterfalls.

The beginning of the PR17 trail follows the Levada da Serra. This Levada shows impressively, which different vegetation levels are present. If you start quite broad and barren, the vegetation changes with each waterfall left behind. Finally - shortly after the pinaculo - you feel like in a jungle!
