One of the hardest things about ascending Beinn Dearg is finding it in the first place. This grand Scottish mountain is one of at least seven that share the same name, so be sure you’ve made your way to the correct peak before you start following any written guidance. Lying south east of Ullapool, this Beinn Dearg reaches 3,556 feet (1,084 m) and towers over its neighbours.

Follow the stone wall the runs up the entire north east ridge of Beinn Dearg and marvel at the hard work, sweat and toil that must have gone into building it. Beinn Dearg literally translates from Scottish Gaelic to Red Hill and is one of 12 Munros with 'Dearg' or 'Red' in their title. It stands at 1,084m high.
