Despite its small dimensions (27 meters total length, 11.80 meters width), the Romanesque Martinskirche from 1111 impresses with the quality of its execution in elaborate cuboid technology and the unusually steep proportions (room height 11.60 meters), which are found primarily inside to make noticable. The Gothic frescoes, which have been remarkably preserved here, give a good idea of a medieval church painting.

The late Gothic church tower was only placed in front of the west facade in 1501. Its ridge height is 33 meters. As soon as the tower was being built, it began to lean due to the subsoil of nodular marl. Halfway up, the masons aligned the rows of stones differently. That's why the tower leans in two directions: 1.02 meters to the west and 82 centimeters to the south. The southwest corner hangs over 1.31 meters. During a major renovation and renovation between 1955 and 1957, drainage was placed around the tower to prevent the tuber marl subsoil from becoming excessively moist. The stability of the structure is regularly checked through complex measurements.
