It is considered the mountain of Milan, the first natural peak over 500m above sea level offering a spectacular view, on clear days you can see Monte Rosa.
At the top stands the sanctuary of the Blessed Virgin of Carmel. The sanctuary is of medieval origins and the construction of the first church is attributed to the Lombards who dedicated it to Saint John the Baptist, one of their favorite saints. The Lombard church survived until 1570 when a fire destroyed it. In 1630 the sanctuary was rebuilt.

First of all I say that there is the salitona that leads to Montevecchia with an assisted MTB made without problems but it is worth it to get on because there is a beautiful view and you can also see the spectacular Corni di Canzo. I recommend it

Montevecchia (Muntavégia in Brianza dialect) is an Italian town of 2,677 inhabitants in the province of Lecco (the latter was established by Decree of the President of the Republic March 6, 1992, n.250; previously, the municipality of Montevecchia was part of the province of Como), in Lombardy.

To access the sanctuary you have to climb a long staircase but in the end it is worthwhile, from up there on a clear day you can admire the entire Brianza valley, and you can also go around the hill and see the panorama all around.
The interior of the sanctuary, on the other hand, is quite classic with no works of particular interest.
