The ruins are in the Neamț county, west of Podoleni village on the left side of Bistrita, between the old riverbed and the current channel of its hydropower addiction, which separates them from the inhabited area. The access can be made on a village road, which detaches from DN15 near the bridge that separates the communes of Zănești and Podoleni and goes adjacent to the canal in parallel with it.
Bociulești Monastery (Buciulești) was an orthodox (now ruined) monastery with the dedication of Cuvioasa Parascheva, built in 1629 by the logician Dumitrașcu Stefan along with his maid Nifia.
There was also a courtyard of Prince Gheorghe Stefan, in the form of a fortress with walls and towers surrounded by a water trench. The fortress was used by him as a residence during the battles he carried out with Vasile Lupu, as well as a place of distress for his enemies.
The church (in whose architectural details we see mountain influences) and the rest of the constructions were destroyed in 1832 by a powerful flood of Bistrita, which broke the terrace on which the whole had been erected. So far only a few structures in the body of the church and the one of the bell tower have survived, as well as some interior elements, moved and preserved in other religious buildings in the area.
The monastery is on the List of historical monuments in Romania under the code NT-I-s-B-10528.
