        The highest elevation in Rheinhessen, at 358 m above sea level, is called Kappelberg and is located in the Rhenish-Hessian Switzerland, more precisely in the "Vorholz" (Forewood). It is a clearing, meaning there is no long-distance view from here. In addition to the summit cross, there are several benches with tables for a rest.

        About the name: A chapel is said to have stood here until the Middle Ages.

                We can really score with our highest elevations in Rheinhessen :-), but for me as a lowland Tyrolean it's almost a mountain. There is a summit cross and a nice place to rest.
