The Grand Théâtre de Genève is one of the largest Swiss stages and enjoys an international reputation. It is home to the Geneva Opera and Ballet.
The Beaux Arts and Second Empire style building was inaugurated in 1879. A first renovation took place following a fire in 1951. A second took place from 2016 to 2019 for architectural, security and heritage improvement purposes.
