    Beinn Dubh is the first summit on the Glen Striddle Horseshoe, a fine outing into the Luss Hills. Its 2,106-foot (642 m) summit reveals spectacular views of the island-studded southern reaches of Loch Lomond and north towards the Arrochar Alps, where the characterful, craggy form of the Cobbler takes centre stage.

    If completing the horseshoe route, the going gets boggier after Beinn Dubh. Many retrace their steps and return to Luss from here, though a complete circuit above Glen Striddle is the more satisfying option.
