The surroundings of the lake and the lake itself offer a particularly varied and panoramic hiking area. On the one hand Fischlaken with its rather open landscape and great panoramas and on the other hand the wooded part with the Korte cliff (must visit!) and several rest stops.

All this is connected by the almost 27-kilometer-long Baldeneysteig (plus the side views of the Isenburg ruins and the Korte cliff). Highly recommended. Since there are many great places for a short or longer break, enough time should be planned. Sturdy shoes (hiking or trekking shoes) and sure-footedness are required for the Baldeneysteig.

The Baldeneysee is always worth a hike, as you can walk all the way around it and see many different uses and sides. From sailing ships and rowing clubs, herons, cormorants and other waterfowl, gastronomy and the lock, there is so much to see.
