This Bismarck tower has stood on the striking Westerberg since 1912. First the steep mountain is conquered and then the stairs inside the tower to get to the viewing platform. But the effort is worth it, because the view of the knee of the Rhine, the Taunus and the surrounding hill country of Rheinhessen is unique. After the exertion you can rest and refresh yourself in the adjoining beer garden.

Like many other places, the tower was built as a memorial to German Chancellor Otto von Bismarck. However, one thing distinguishes this massive tower from its countless namesakes throughout Germany: From the very beginning, it was designed as an observation tower, and even today, visitors can climb the 111 steps inside. From the viewing platform, you have a magnificent view of the vast surrounding landscape.
