"The villa-like castle building on the Rhine above Brohl-Lützing dates back to 1888. The castle's exterior is open to visitors. The renovated large hall can be rented for parties.

The castle-like complex in the small village of Brohl-Lützing bears little resemblance to the former castle from the early 14th century: the changes to the building in 1888 were profound. Written sources name Johann Burggraf von Rheineck as the free owner of the noble residence. By assuming feudal sovereignty over Brohleck Castle, Baldwin of Luxembourg ultimately drove a wedge between the Electorate of Cologne's sites of Sinzig and Bad Breisig in the north and Andernach in the south. In the mid-16th century, the castle was rebuilt by Friedrich von Metternich and his wife Anna von Düsternau, whose coat of arms is commemorated by the stone at the tower entrance. Today, Brohleck appears as a multi-winged, castle-like estate in the historicist style. The privately owned The complex offers space for weddings, celebrations, and concerts. Every year, a romantic Christmas market within the castle walls attracts many visitors.

A very beautiful, well-preserved castle. It is now privately owned. Hikers are always welcome. On the Rhine Castle Trail, you pass through the castle courtyard.

We were able to meet the lady of the castle on our hike. Despite Corona we were allowed to visit the inside of the castle. She was also very sad that they could not hold celebrations
