In my opinion, this is just a great opportunity to see a great view of the castle from the surrounding trail, with excellent viewing platforms. I definitely recommend visiting this castle in autumn, when golden autumn paints the surrounding mountains with a colorful carpet. Inside the castle, you can also find permanent exhibitions. I definitely recommend it.

Entry to the castle costs EUR 6 for adults. There are also tickets for young people and family tickets. Guided tours can also be booked.

A tour is worthwhile! The main things to visit are:
- the historical porcelain collection
- the torture chamber
- the prison
- the wedding hall
- the ballroom
- the Elbow Collection
- the Weapons Museum
- the tower

Originally a Romanesque royal castle, it was founded in the third quarter of the 12th century during the reign of King Vladislav II, probably as a fulcrum of royal power. In the second half of the 15th century and the beginning of the 16th century, the austere castle architecture was transformed into a representative family residence, built in the spirit of late Gothic and the emerging Renaissance. From 1602, when the town became the owner of the castle, its decline began. In 1797–1822 it was converted into a state prison (in use until 1948). Since 1992 the castle has been owned by the town of Loket.
