From the fountain in the foreground in the photo flows pudia water with remarkable beneficial properties. The origins of Villa Kechler de Asarta go hand in hand with the history of the Fefor di Fraforeano which, according to documents dating back to 1275, had been granted by the patriarch of Aquileia to the Counts of Varmo. The architectural complex, with the dominical house flanked by barchesse, originally intended for agricultural use, owes its current appearance to transformations that took place in the second half of the 19th century at the behest of Vittorio de Asarta, who enhanced the management of the agricultural estate thanks to a radical modernization (first worldwide use of electric plowing).

Twice a year the time has come and the weekend of the "Castelli aperti, the open castles" lures with castles, palaces and villas that usually cannot be visited because they are privately inhabited.
One of these historic buildings is Villa Barbarigo – de Arasta – Kechler, which stands near the A4 motorway exit Latisana in Friuli in a small village (Fraforeano) on the old country road. It is a villa and its outbuildings, originally used for agriculture, and a beautiful English park. The picturesque ensemble was first mentioned in the middle of the 16th century.
