    In the imposing Kaiser Wilhelm Tower there is a restaurant with a beautiful panoramic terrace and a wonderful view of the Elbe valley. Delicious dishes made from fresh regional products are served.

    The tower itself is 30 meters high and was built in 1910.

    Opening hours:
    Wednesday to Monday 11.30 a.m. to 9 p.m. (warm cuisine from 11.30 a.m. to 2.30 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.)

      The Kaiser Wilhelm Tower (called "Schöne Aussicht") was used for a long time as an excursion restaurant, but was vacant for some time in the 2000s.
      The entrepreneur Gellert, known and valued in Bad Schmiedeberg, has extensively renovated the tower and reopened the restaurant.
      There are seasonal dishes of high quality here. The tower can also be climbed for a small fee. If the weather is good, you can also see the Völkerschlachtdenkmal in Leipzig from the viewing platform.

                On June 10, 1897, the city council of Bad Schmiedeberg was presented with an application for the construction of a Kaiser Wilhelm Tower. The application also included the construction of a restaurant. The site of the "Borkenhäuschen" on the then bare hilltop was designated as the building site. This had previously served as a weather shelter for hikers.

                However, the construction had to be postponed because the city initially preferred infrastructure (water tower) and spa operations (spa house). After the spa house was completed in 1908, construction of the tower began. The building materials were transported by donkey or horse-drawn cart. The water was brought to the tower the same way for many years. The ceremonial inauguration took place on February 5, 1910.
