At this archaeological site outside of St. Martin an der Raab you can find out about the rituals and death cults of the Romans. The usual form of burial in the provinces of Noricum and Pannonia during the older Roman Empire was cremation under such hills. The dead were burned with items such as clothing and jewelry and then buried. A mound of earth was then heaped up over the grave.
