      The court was first mentioned around 1290 in a document. In 1416 Duke Frederick of Tyrol is said to have found refuge on Finailhof. The duke worked as a farmhand in the yard. As a thank you, the Duke handed the farmer his silverware and drinking cup. Both parts can be admired in a showcase in the yard.

                      We made a detour to the Finailhof on our circular hike around the Vernagt reservoir. Highly recommended place to stop. The dumplings or fried potatoes with goulash were very tasty and the service staff friendly and attentive. We will definitely come back again!

                                        The Finailhof is a worthwhile stop for a rest. Unfortunately, you can also get close by car. There are plenty of seats, but they can all be taken during rush hour. If you start in Vernagt and hike around the reservoir, you're sure to arrive hungry. If you head straight up into the meadows, you'll be thirsty after the short, gentle alpine climb. The view from there is beautiful. Good food, delicious cakes, and friendly staff leave a good impression. If you don't want to do a loop around the entire lake afterwards, you can hike a little lower back to Vernagt.
