The Lochbachklamm is wildly romantic, some small bridges lead the hiker through the gorge. Sturdy shoes are recommended, after rain it can be very slippery on the narrow paths.
You can stop off at Stranbad no. 1 at Wallenstein, open from May.

Wildly romantic Lochbach Gorge. The path leads along a partly rugged gorge with waterfalls that pour over rocks and then open up into a meadow valley.
The Lochbach has dug its way through the soft sandstone layers over thousands of years, leaving behind a deep gorge. The forest stream overcomes 150 meters in altitude and washes out the softer rock layers.

Since the Lochbach currently has little water, the gorge doesn't look nearly as spectacular as you know it from many pictures. We were a little disappointed, but it is still a very nice hiking trail through the gorge. So if you want to admire beautiful waterfalls, you should wait until it has rained properly.

The circular path is very well marked with the red L.
The gorge is 1.3 km long. It seemed wildly romantic and idyllic to me.
Surefootedness is required and, depending on your fitness level, it can be classified as easy to moderately difficult. It is definitely recommended and worth seeing.
Not suitable for wheelchairs or strollers.

A hiking trail about 1 km long leads through the Lochbachklamm. It was created in cooperation between the Hülsa clubs and the Technical Relief Agency and opened to hikers in 1982.

In 1987, the path was extended by the Hülsa village community with a total of 16 wooden bridges.

A few years later, the approximately 8.3 km long premium circular hiking trail Lochbachpfad was created, the most beautiful section of which is the Lochbachklamm. The Lochbachpfad offers a wonderful view near Rückersfeld before it passes the towns of Völkershain and Wallenstein. With the Kankowskyhütte, the Ferdinand Kersting Hütte and the Ebigsgrabenhütte, hikers have 3 shelters at their disposal for rest. In 2022, the final expansion stage of the Lochbachklamm was carried out by the Hülsa local council in cooperation with the THW Homberg. 21 bridges and footbridges now lead through the 1.1 km long gorge. The hiking sign for the Lochbachpfad is a white "F" on a red background.
