Niebüll is the tourist hub in the extreme northwest of the republic. From here, the islands of Sylt, Föhr and Amrum as well as the Halligen in the Wadden Sea World Heritage Site, the North Sea coast itself, southern Denmark and the cities of Husum and Flensburg can be reached in a short time, whether by car, motorhome, train or AutoZug or by bike. The city is an ideal place to stay for day trips throughout the region. And even the Hamburg metropolitan region can be reached every hour due to the excellent transport connections.

In addition to its three museums - the Richard Haizmann Museum for Modern Art, the Natural History Museum and the Frisian Museum - the city of Niebüll itself offers a wide range of leisure activities, such as an indoor swimming pool, Wehle natural outdoor pool, bowling alleys, tennis courts, indoor tennis courts, squash courts, riding halls, Skater park, all sports facilities for classic recreational sports as well as a well-developed network of cycling and hiking trails and a Nordic walking park with 40km of routes on 6 routes. Golf fans will find an exemplary 18-hole golf course about 15 km away in scenic surroundings on the edge of the Langenberg Forest. Other golf courses on the mainland are in Husum and in Denmark, relatively close to the border. In addition, the local recreation areas Legerader Wald and Marschenpark as well as the inner-city green spaces such as Malmesbury Park or the city park invite you to relax outdoors.

An absolute highlight from the mainland is the Nolde Foundation in Seebüll, where Emil and Adda Nolde's extensive estate is managed in the spirit of the artist, his work is preserved for posterity and shown in a special exhibition.
