The Galerieholländer was built in 1878. Its plastered stone eight-corridor on a two-storey also octagonal substructure is striking. Windy wings, a gallery and the old-fashioned stert make this mill, visible from afar, a coveted photo object. In 1913 a hurricane-like storm paralyzed the mill operations. The conversion to motor power paid off until 1938. A defect in the suction gas motor was not rectified and the grinding operation was therefore stopped. Around 1975 consideration was given to blowing up the mill because it was an eyesore. However, this project was not implemented. With the beginning of the mill preservation in the district of Minden-Lübbecke, the local and mill friends of Ton Heid also vehemently campaigned for the preservation of the mill. After a long time, thanks to the voluntary help of the local residents, a job creation measure and subsidies, especially from the state, succeeded in restoring the mill in the view of the windmill era - a stroke of luck for today's landmark of Ton Heath. Since 1996, many couples have said yes here, far from the sober charm of a normal registry office.
