House Dieprahm

The former knight's seat has been a listed building since 1982. The two-story brick house with the two defense towers was probably built on the site of a Franconian courtyard. The legend is told that Napoleon stayed in the smaller tower unrecognized as the 'Duke of Vincenza' on his flight from Russia. Since then this tower has been called the Napoleon Tower.

I was born in 67 and grew up in the immediate vicinity of the castle. Until 1989, when I moved from Lintfort, and until the mid-90s, Dieprahm Castle was pretty neglected.
