      The “Stalingrad Chapel” (Herz-Jesu-Kapelle) near Oberroth is a gem that calls for peace. Sepp Haas, the war returnee built some of them. from the rubble of bombed Munich.

      Kurt Reiber's "Stalingrad Madonna" can be found in the chapel. The hospital doctor, Protestant pastor and artist drew a mother in the middle of the battle for Stalingrad at Christmas 1942, who wrapped her child in a wide coat. "Light life love" is written next to it. The Madonna - in the midst of the hail of bombs, the "cauldron" of that time - exudes great calm and security.
