In 1798 the "Hof von Oldenburg" was built as the first building outside the protective structures of the city of Jever. On the west side, towards the castle, the carillon shows the most important rulers of Jever's rule several times a day.

The striking building is a historic restaurant from 1798.

Nowadays there is a restaurant and café in the building. A special feature is the carillon with 16 bells, which was inaugurated in April 1983. The most important former rulers of Jeverland appear several times a day:

Edo Wiemken the Younger (1454-1511)

Maria von Jever (1500-1575),

Count Anton Günther (1583-1667),

Prince Johann August von Anhalt-Zerbst (1677-1742) as well

the Tsarina Catherine II of Russia (1729-1796).
