The Vacchelli canal, called Marzano canal or Canal Marsà in Lombard dialect, was built between 1887 and 1892, at the request of the Cremonese senator Pietro Vacchelli, from whom it took its name.

The Vacchelli Canal is a 34-kilometer engineering project commissioned by Garibaldi's Pietro Vacchelli in the late 19th century. Here we are at the beginning of the canal, where a monumental structure tells the story of the area. The Vacchelli continues toward Cremona, flanked by a beautiful dirt bike path. The Adda Cycle Route crosses it, continuing south.
