The medieval church of St. Georg dominates the townscape of Kraftshof and can be seen from afar. It is completely surrounded by a wall with small watchtowers at the corners, which give the old town a touch of medieval atmosphere. The entire ensemble looks a little like a fairy tale. If you want to enjoy the atmosphere more, you will find a small beer garden in the village square in front of the entrance to the fortified church.

The medieval church of St. Georg (formerly also St. Mary and Holy Cross) is a fortified church and is completely surrounded by a wall with battlements and corner towers. A rich equipment is located inside.

Friedrich Kreß probably had the church built as a branch of Poppenreuth between 1305 and 1315, parts of which are still preserved in the choir tower today. A good century later the nave was extended (1438). The complex, which was destroyed in many parts in 1943, was reconstructed with funds from the brothers Samuel and Rush Kreß until 1952. The church ensemble was renovated from 2005 to 2011.
