                            The Nockstein, on the outskirts of Salzburg, can be climbed via a variety of routes. From Koppl, a very easy trail, to the challenging "Jagasteig," there's a suitable route for all hikers. Only the final stretch to the summit cross requires climbing, requiring surefootedness and a head for heights. However, most people linger at one of the many spots below the cross. From the Nockstein, you have a fantastic view, and an information board explains the surrounding mountains. A hike up the Gaisberg is also a good option.
