The Cathedral of Santa Maria de Tortosa is the seat of the diocese of the city of the same name in the province of Tarragona. Furthermore, it is thanks to the presence of the cathedral that Tortosa has gained its letters of nobility and has become a city in its own right.
The building has a good mix of styles. Built on an old Romanesque colony from 1347, the style is mainly Gothic, although the façade shows a rather Baroque side, reinforced during its restoration.

The Cathedral of Santa María de Tortosa, is the seat of the Diocese of Tortosa in the province of Tarragona. The current building is Gothic and started in 1347, built on an earlier Romanesque building. The Cathedral was first consecrated in 1441 and construction phases continued up to the Baroque facade, begun in the 1620s and left unfinished in 1757. It is located on the banks of the River Ebro.
