The Plaza del Ayuntamiento is the largest and most famous square in the center of Valencia. The triangular square has a beautiful fountain and is surrounded by buildings from the 19th and early 20th centuries. It gives its name to the largest building on this square, namely the Valencia Town Hall (Ayuntamiento). During your city trip to Valencia you are guaranteed to encounter this lively car-free square.

Formerly known as the Plaza del Caudillo and recently renovated, the square is the point 0 of the City of Valencia.

Surrounded by emblematic buildings, the Town Hall, the Clock Tower, the Royal House of Education, among others, stand out.

It is the nerve center that hosts one of the most representative events such as the Fallas, especially the Mascletà, from March 1 until the end of the Fallas festivities and March 19 every day at 2:00 p.m.

The central square, in front of the station. Beautiful buildings frame this square. Especially the town hall (ayuntamiento), post office (correos) and train station are very worthwhile. You can partly view all these buildings from the inside. Certainly do!!

The Town Hall Square is one of the most beautiful squares in Valencia (just after the Plaza de la Virgen). If you're visiting during the day, you can also visit Valencia City Hall.

The town hall is an 18th century building with an impressive clock tower. There are magnificent staircases, endless city archives and a small museum.

On the last Sunday of every month, the square is closed to car traffic so that pedestrians can walk around freely. There is a nice fountain and many shops and restaurants nearby.

The Grand Plaza Ayuntamiento is one of the three main squares of Valencia. The impressive square has a fountain and lawn in the heart and is flanked by some of Valencia's most important buildings. The bell tower of the neoclassical town hall rings every hour, and the opulent décor is made of marble and richly carved wood. The post office is more like a theater than an administration building with a lead glass dome. The square is a popular meeting place for Valencians and the focal point for fireworks during the annual Fallas Festival.

Consisting of two buildings that merge into one another: the former school of the Archbishop Mayoral, the "House of Education", and the building that dates back to the last century and was designed by the architects Francisco de Mora y Berenguer and Carlos Carbonell Pañella. While the former building is generally academic in style and decorated with Baroque elements on the main gates, the 20th-century building has a purist base with Mannerist elements. The municipal council finally moved into this building in 1934. This building also houses the Municipal Archives and the Municipal Museum, with the remaining premises housing various administrative departments. This modern building with the character of a monument at the same time has a rich ornamentation with, among other things, Valencian elements. In the center of the front there is a clock tower, while inside the banquet hall, the meeting room and the large marble staircase stand out. Externally, the two elliptical domes covered by glazed roof tiles and the large balcony that stretches along the central part of the first floor deserve a mention.
