The Plaza del Ayuntamiento is the largest and most famous square in the center of Valencia. The triangular square has a beautiful fountain and is surrounded by buildings from the 19th and early 20th centuries. It gives its name to the largest building on this square, namely the Valencia Town Hall (Ayuntamiento). During your city trip to Valencia you are guaranteed to encounter this lively car-free square.

The fountain stands in the Plaza de Ayuntamiento. This square is far and away the most impressive square in Valencia, with magnificent neoclassical and modernist buildings. Noteworthy is the large round fountain and the sculpture on it. It pays homage to Francesc de Vinatea, a distinguished jurist in the city at the beginning of the 14th century.
