Chanaz is a historic and atypical village on the banks of the Rhône where many craftsmen have created their workshops and shops, making the place very lively.

Activities are also organized throughout the year within the municipality. There is a very interesting Gallo-Roman museum in Chanaz. For visits, consult the following site: musee-gallomain-chanaz.fr

Chanaz, also called "Petite Venise savoyarde" (Little Venice of the Savoie) by the locals, resembles a small tourist stronghold, especially in the summer months. In the middle of the otherwise rather tranquil surroundings, you don't really expect this hustle and bustle. But in Chanaz, on a sunny day, you quickly get the feeling that you are in an amusement park. Especially on the canals on the side of the Rhone, there is usually a brisk traffic of electric boats and nostalgic excursion boats. The place retains its charm even on such days. The medieval town center is also definitely worth a visit.
