Around 1350 the fiefdom directory already mentions a castrum, which proves that at that time it was already a two-part moated castle, separated into a fore and a main castle, whose floor plan has probably been preserved to this day.

In the west and in the east there are good dirt roads, parallel to the Kessenicher road - but this road is also worth it to be driven, because the castle, as well not to visit easily is also worth seeing from the outside!
