In order to bring people closer to the splendor of the starry sky, a good telescope and an unrestricted view of the night sky outdoors are needed. Due to the ever increasing lighting of the cities, this is increasingly rare here in Germany and Meckesheim specifically, this still has quite a dark location / possibility to be able to watch well outdoors.

Were it not for the sign pointing to the observatory, one would not recognize that it is one.
Seems to be a good spot for stargazers though.
The observatory currently has no regular opening hours. Information about planned, current events and fixed dates is provided in the News area and in the appointment calendar. News can also be received via the newsletter.
