This is one of over 300 knight's stones of the Palatinate Forest Association.
"At Ritterstein there is a ski jump from the time of the Revolutionary Wars (Eitelmann, p. 132). [...] The ski jumps near Fischbach near Kaiserslautern were built by the Prussians in the Revolutionary Wars (also called Coalition Wars, 1792-1815). They came over the Schorlenberg under the Prussian Field Marshal Gebhard Leberecht von Blücher (1742-1819) and drove the French back to Pirmasens via Fischbach, Hochspeyer and Trippstadt."
